At Khichad, we strive to provide the best shipping experience. If something goes wrong, we are committed to making it right. This Refund Policy outlines when and how refunds are processed for our shipping services.

1. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are available for shipments that are lost, significantly delayed beyond guaranteed delivery time, or damaged due to mishandling by our team. Refunds must be claimed within 30 days of the scheduled delivery date. Proof of damage or loss may be required. Refunds are not available for delays caused by incorrect address information, recipient unavailability, or force majeure events.

2. Cancellation Policy

Shipments can be cancelled before pickup for a full refund. After pickup but before dispatch from our facility, cancellations incur a 10% processing fee. Once a package is dispatched for delivery, cancellations are not permitted, but delivery can be redirected (subject to additional charges). Cancellation requests must be submitted through your account dashboard or customer support.

3. Refund Process

Refund requests must be submitted through our customer portal or by contacting support. All requests are reviewed within 3-5 business days. If approved, refunds are processed within 7-10 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. For cash payments, refunds are provided via bank transfer or store credit. You will receive email confirmation once the refund is processed.

4. Damaged Packages

If your package arrives damaged, you must report it within 24 hours of delivery. Take photos of the damaged package and contents for claim processing. Our team will investigate the claim and determine eligibility for refund or compensation. Refunds for damaged goods are based on declared value and insurance coverage. Always inspect packages upon delivery and note any visible damage.

5. Lost Packages

Packages are considered lost if not delivered within 10 business days of the guaranteed delivery date (standard shipping) or 5 business days (express shipping). A thorough investigation will be conducted to locate the package. If the package cannot be located within 15 days of the investigation start date, a full refund will be processed. Insurance claims are handled separately for high-value items.

6. Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in cases where: only part of a multi-package shipment is lost or damaged, the package was delivered but with delays exceeding our service guarantees, or minor damage occurred that doesn't affect the primary contents. The refund amount will be proportional to the loss or inconvenience caused, as determined by our claims team.

7. Insurance Claims

Shipments with purchased insurance require a separate insurance claim process. Claims must be filed within 7 days of delivery or scheduled delivery date. Required documentation includes: proof of value (invoice/receipt), photos of damage, original packaging, and shipping documents. Insurance claims are processed by our insurance partner and may take 15-30 days for resolution.

8. Delivery Delays

For guaranteed delivery services (express, same-day), refunds are available if delivery exceeds the guaranteed time by more than 4 hours. Weather-related delays and force majeure events are exempt from this policy. To claim a delay refund, contact support within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery time. Refunds for delays typically cover shipping charges only, not the full shipment value.

9. Wrong Address Deliveries

If a package is delivered to the wrong address due to our error, we will arrange re-delivery at no additional cost or process a full refund. If the error is due to incorrect information provided during booking, re-delivery charges will apply, and refunds will not be available. Always verify your delivery address carefully before confirming shipment.

10. Service Downgrades

If you paid for express service but received standard delivery service, you are eligible for a refund of the difference in shipping charges. Claims must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Automatic downgrades due to operational constraints will be communicated, and refunds will be processed automatically within 5 business days.

11. Non-Refundable Charges

The following charges are non-refundable: additional services (signature confirmation, special handling), customs duties and taxes, storage fees for unclaimed packages, address correction fees, and return shipping charges (unless the return is due to our error). Insurance premiums are non-refundable but claims can be filed separately.

12. Refund Timeframes

Credit/debit card refunds: 7-10 business days. UPI refunds: 3-5 business days. Net banking refunds: 5-7 business days. Digital wallet refunds: 2-3 business days. Cash payment refunds (bank transfer): 7-14 business days. Store credit refunds: Instant. Refund timeframes may vary depending on your financial institution's processing time.

13. Dispute Resolution

If your refund request is denied and you wish to dispute the decision, you may escalate the matter to our claims management team. Provide additional documentation or evidence to support your claim. Disputes are reviewed within 5-7 business days. Final decisions will be communicated via email. For further escalation, refer to our Terms of Service.

14. Store Credit Option

As an alternative to refunds, you may choose store credit, which offers a 10% bonus on the refund amount. Store credit never expires and can be used for future shipments. Store credit is transferable to your business account if applicable. This option provides faster processing (instant) compared to monetary refunds.
